Academic information sessions provide a unique experience to learn more about your program of interest. From dynamic online events to experiential tours on campus, each session provides a program overview, highlights experiential learning opportunities, and explores the resources and facilities UNE has to offer.

Dental Hygiene

Portland Campus

Our Dental Hygiene information session provides an overview of the coursework and academic pathways for Dental Hygiene majors. Program faculty will highlight examples of hands-on learning experiences, practice techniques, and how we prepare students to thrive in modern, team-based care. Your session will include a tour of our Dental Hygiene facilities, including our dental simulation lab.

Exercise and Sport Performance

Biddeford Campus

Our Department of Exercise and Sport Performance (ESP) offers programs in Athletic Training and Applied Exercise Science. This information session explores the differences between the two programs, as well as the coursework, research, internships, and interprofessional education at the center of both majors. You'll meet the director of the Athletic Training program for a mock class and a tour of the Harold Alfond Forum, where you'll experience what courses are like in our classrooms, labs, and athletics facilities.

Health, Wellness and Occupational Studies

Biddeford Campus

At the intersection of health and human behavior, UNE’s Health, Wellness and Occupational Studies (HWOS) program teaches you how to work with diverse individuals and populations to assess their wellness and guide them toward healthier lives. Attend our HWOS information session and learn more about our uniquely interprofessional educational environment. Program Director Caryn Husman, M.S., OTR/L, will lead a presentation about the program, including curriculum discussion and activities related to specific classes such as stress management, assistive technology, and occupational media.

Marine and Environmental Programs

Biddeford Campus

Whether you’re interested in Marine Sciences or Environmental Studies, this information session provides an exciting introduction to the hands-on education you can expect in the field, on boats, in state-of-the-art laboratories, and in internships. You’ll meet Charles Tilburg, Ph.D., director of the School of Marine and Environmental Programs for a presentation and overview of the Arthur P. Girard Marine Science Center. You will then take a boat trip on the Saco River to see our beautiful coastline and experience the waters where you’ll study.
