Program Overview

As a student in UNE’s Doctor of Pharmacy program, you’ll receive an education focused on your success. Our dedicated team of faculty, professional staff, and pharmacy preceptors are continually developing innovative approaches to teaching and learning while supporting you through your four years at the School. Through our challenging curriculum, interprofessional programs, and experiential learning opportunities, you’ll graduate with the skillset employers are seeking.

Located in picturesque Portland, Maine, the School of Pharmacy is housed in a state-of-the-art, 48,000-square-foot facility that opened in the fall of 2009. On the Portland Campus, you belong to a tight-knit community, joining professional, graduate, and undergraduate students, all of whom are passionate about the health sciences.

A limited number of merit scholarships are now available to incoming Doctor of Pharmacy students.

Career Pathways

A Doctor of Pharmacy degree from UNE prepares you for a variety of pharmacy occupations, as well as career growth. Current graduates are employed at chain and independent community pharmacies, health care systems, long-term care facilities, and within the pharmaceutical industry. Many of our students have gone on to complete post-graduate residency and fellowship programs. The School of Pharmacy works with you to ensure career success and it shows — 100% of the class of 2016 was employed within 6 months of graduation. (January '17 survey)
